Cafe Review: The Betterfield x Twenty Grammes

The Betterfield is a relatively quiet café which seemed to fare better in their duck dishes. Located around bras basah!! Chef had experience working in hotel and restaurant kitchens, and online reviews have been favourite. The better news, prices are nett.

Black Truffle Fries - $9
The truffle fries was really good!! Truffle aroma was strong, fries was crispy and mayo was well combined with the fries.

The Black Angus Ribeye - 200gram $21
This is amazingly good!! We had it Medium rare and it was delightfully tender and filled the senses with intense flavour.
The truffle wholegrain mustard sauce that came with it was delicious too.

Furkake, prawn and chorizo - $20
The pasta wasn't that good. I think it tasted very Unique. I don't know how to describe the taste as it tasted weird.

Overall, the food was pretty average and the menu is quite limited for now and nothing attract me to go back again. I understand the Duck Confit is another popular item on the menu, maybe you guys can give it a try.

Twenty Grammes another ice-cream parlour just found its way here. Tucked at a quiet corner just about 5-10 minutes walk down from I Am Cafe, you'd be able to find Twenty Grammes, a waffle/dessert cafe. A decent selection of ice cream flavours which everyone will had a hard time decide.
Iced Cafe Latte - $6
The coffee aroma wasn't strong and the it wasn't smooth.

Charcoal waffle with 2 scoop of ice cream - $15
The waffles was very tasteless!! The ice cream texture was to the creamier and dense type, and tilted more to the sweet side. The salted egg sauce was really good, it was savory and well combined with the ice cream.

Overall, Twenty Grammes may be having a concept similar to other ice-cream parlours around, but the location seems pretty decent, especially since it’s situated not too far away from Kampong Glam thus making it a good stopover on a hot day.
