Marriott Cafe Singapore: Korean Feast

10:25:00

Hailing all the way from Seoul and definitely no stranger to authentic Korean cuisine, Chef Choi Dae-hwan brings with him more than 16 years of experience in many of Seoul’s finest hotels. Setting his eyes on becoming a world-class chef, Chef Choi Dae-hwan’s philosophy is focused on diligence which is what propelled him to what he is today. Starting off in Yongsusan, one of the best Korean cuisine restaurants, Chef Choi Dae-hwan worked his way up the ranks to become the Assistant Chef at just 24 years old.

Shortly after joining JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square, Chef Choi Dae-hwan fired up the Seoul’s dining scene and received raved reviews when he crafted the Korean menu at the ‘2015 Cruise Collection’ after-party by Chanel at the Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Not only that, his restaurant in JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square – Tavolo 24, has received the Certificate of Excellence on TripAdvisor. His passion for cooking stems from the desire to be creative in presenting unique local dishes to the discerning palates of both Korean and international diners.

Kimchi pancake - The crowds favourite!! This fluffy and light yet crisp pancake was too good to resist it. I can simply have this whole plate by my own.

Korean-Style soup - This light and flavorful soup will definitely score well for those soup lover. It was cooked for more than 8 hours to make this bowl of soup so addictive.

Beef Bulgogi - My personal favourite dish among all. The beef was marinated overnight and it was well cooked still soft and tender. The sauce was really very addictive and the sweetness was just perfect!! The best beef bulgogi I had so far.

An Dong Style Chicken Stew with Soy Sauce -

Roast Chilli Halibut Fillet -

This meat is definitely must try!! It was damn good and you will never regret it. The halibut fillet was well marinated, the sauce wasn’t too sweet or spicy! The flavor was well balanced. The fillet was very soft and tender.

Pork Belly Bossam -

What’s Korean feast without any pork belly dish!! Meat lover will definitely love it. The pork belly was boiled with lots of spices that’s why the pork belly is so flavorful.

Food: 4.25/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5

My Verdict:
I enjoyed my Korean feast experience at Marriott cafe. Everyone please come and try it at least once cause it was too good not to be shared!! Lady can go for their dessert, they served different dessert menu everyday so don’t miss out.

There are also other international cuisines in the buffet that you can try, including sushi, sashimi, pasta, bread, cheese, seafood on ice etc.
